POWERS OF ATTORNEY

WELSH LANGUAGE

The Powers of Attorney (Welsh Language Forms) Order 2000

  Made 1st February 2000 
  Coming into force 1st March 2000 

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 26(2) of the Welsh Language Act 1993[1], makes the following Order:

     1. This Order may be cited as the Powers of Attorney (Welsh Language Forms) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st March 2000 immediately after the coming into force of the Trustee Delegation Act 1999[2].

     2. The form of words in Part I of the Schedule to this Order may be used instead of that set out in section 25(6) of the Trustee Act 1925[3].

     3. The form of words in Part II of the Schedule to this Order may be used instead of that set out in Schedule 1 to the Powers of Attorney Act 1971[4].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order)


This Order prescribes two Welsh language forms for powers of attorney. The first is a translation of the form contained in section 25 of the Trustee Act 1925 (as inserted by the Trustee Delegation Act 1999), which allows a trustee to delegate the exercise of his powers. The second is a translation of the form contained in Schedule 1 to the Powers of Attorney Act 1971, and confers a general power of attorney in accordance with section 10 of that Act.
