TRANSPORT

The Railways (Alternative Closure Procedure) (Amendment) Order 1999

  Made 19th November 1999 
  Laid before Parliament 22nd November 1999 
  Coming into force 13th December 1999 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 49(3) and 143(4) of the Railways Act 1993[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Railways (Alternative Closure Procedure) (Amendment) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 13th December 1999.

    (2) In this Order "the 1994 Order" means the Railways (Alternative Closure Procedure) Order 1994[
2].

Amendment of the 1994 Order
     2. Article 2 of the 1994 Order shall be amended as follows - 

    " London Docklands Railway (Lewisham) Act 1993"[4].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Railway (Alternative Closure Procedure) Order 1994 ("the 1994 Order") by adding the railway passenger services operated on the network constructed pursuant to powers conferred by the London Docklands Railway (Lewisham) Act 1993 to the services designated in 1994 Order as railway passenger services in relation to which Schedule 5 of the Railways Act 1993 is to have effect. Schedule 5 contains provisions relating to the discontinuance of railway passenger services.
