CONSTITUTIONAL LAW

The Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1999

  Made 26th October 1999 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 101(3) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998[1], hereby makes the following Order:

     1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1999.

    
2. The following provisions of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 shall come into force on 28th October 1999:

    Section 40(10), so far as relating to paragraph 6 of Schedule 5

    Paragraph 6 of Schedule 5.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force on 28th October 1999 the enabling powers in paragraph 6 of Schedule 5 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998, under which Her Majesty may by Order in Council provide for the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission to be treated as a Crown body.
