LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (No. 2) Order 1999

  Made 17th June 1999 
  Laid before Parliament 28th June 1999 
  Coming into force 19th July 1999 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(5) of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970[1], hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (No. 2) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 19th July 1999.

Designation as a public body
    
2. The following persons, who appear to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and to the Secretary of State for Wales to be exercising functions of a public nature, shall be public bodies for the purposes of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970 in its application to England and Wales:

         The Academy of Youth Limited[2],

         Coronation Park at Launceston, Cornwall[3],

         The New Opportunities Fund[4],

         The Preston and Western Lancashire Racial Equality Council[5],

         Renaisi Limited[6].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


Article 2 of this Order designates The Academy of Youth Limited, Coronation Park (at Launceston, Cornwall), the New Opportunities Fund, the Preston and Western Lancashire Racial Equality Council and Renaisi Limited as public bodies under section 1(5) of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970. The effect of designation is to allow a local authority to provide goods and services to the designated body.
