ROAD TRAFFIC

The M6 Motorway (Junction 38 Slip Roads) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1999

  Laid before Parliament 18th June 1999 
  Coming into force 12th July 1999 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the M6 Motorway (Junction 38 Slip Roads) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 12th July 1999.

Imposition of speed limit
    
2.  - (1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any specified slip road.

    (2) Each of the following slip roads at junction 38 of the M6 Motorway is a "specified slip road"-

    (a) the northbound exit slip road between its junction with the northbound carriageway of the M6 and its junction with the A685 roundabout;

    (b) the northbound entry slip road between its junction with the A685 roundabout and its junction with the northbound carriageway of the M6;

    (c) the southbound exit slip road between its junction with the southbound carriageway of the M6 and its junction with the northbound exit slip road.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on specified slip roads at junction 38 of the M6 Motorway.
