Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before, and approved by, a resolution of each House of Parliament: Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 12(1)(b) and (5) of the Government of Wales Act 1998[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: - Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the National Assembly for Wales (Disqualification) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 11th March 1999. Designation of disqualifying offices 2. The offices described in the Schedule are hereby designated as offices disqualifying the holders of such offices from being members of the National Assembly for Wales. A. K. Galloway Clerk of the Privy Council A National Park authority for a National Park in Wales. An urban development corporation for an urban development area wholly in Wales. A panel, established under Schedule 10 to the Rent Act 1977[2], of persons to act as chairmen and other members of rent assessment committees for an area or areas every part of which is in Wales. A tribunal constituted under Schedule 2 to the School Inspections Act 1996[3]. Sianel Pedwar Cymru. The Arts Council of Wales. The Audit Commission for Local Authorities and the National Health Service in England and Wales. The Broadcasting Standards Commission. The Central Arbitration Committee. Chairman or non-executive director of a National Health Service trust all or some of whose hospitals, establishments or other facilities are situated in Wales. Chief Adjudication Officer appointed under section 39 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992[4]. Chief Child Support Officer appointed under section 13(3) of the Child Support Act 1991[5]. Civil Service Commissioner. Commissioner for Protection Against Unlawful Industrial Action. Commissioner for Public Appointments. Commissioner for the Rights of Trade Union Members. Commissioner or assistant Commissioner of the Boundary Commission for Wales. Comptroller and Auditor General. Director General of Electricity Supply. Director General of Fair Trading. Director General of Gas Supply. Director General of Telecommunications. Governor of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Health Service Commissioner for Wales. Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales. Member of a Medical Appeal Tribunal appointed under section 50 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992. Member of a panel appointed under section 6 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992[6] of persons to act as chairmen of Child Support Appeal Tribunals. President of appeal tribunals (within the meaning of Chapter I of Part I of the Social Security Act 1998) appointed under section 5 of that Act. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order designates those offices which disqualify the holders of such offices from being members of the National Assembly for Wales.
