The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after completion of the consultation prescribed under section 5(2) of the latter Act[3], hereby makes the following Order: Citation, commencement and interpretation 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Chichester Priority Care Services National Health Service Trust (Change of Name) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st January 1999. (2) In this Order-
Change of name of NHS trust
(b) be taken as invalidating any instrument (whether made before, on or after the day on which this Order comes into force) which refers to the trust by its previous name; and all instruments and other documents which refer to the trust under its previous name shall be construed as referred to it under its new name.
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order changes the name of an NHS trust established by Order under Part I of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 from the Chichester Priority Care Services National Health Service Trust to the Sussex Weald and Downs National Health Service Trust, and makes consequential amendments to that Order and transitional provisions.
