This Statutory Instrument has been made to correct errors in, and in consequence of an omission from, S.I. 1998/2212, and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Instrument.

" North East London Education Association
     4A. Notwithstanding the repeal of Part II and certain related provisions of the School Inspections Act 1996[3] ("the Inspections Act")-


(a) there shall continue to be a body corporate known as the North East London Education Association[4] ("the Association");

(b) the following provisions of the Inspections Act shall continue to have effect in relation to the Association-


(i) section 31(1) to (3), (5), (6) and (7);

(ii) section 32;

(iii) section 38(3) and (4) so far as those subsections enable the Secretary of State to make provision for the disposal of the property of Hackney Downs School and the discharge of any liabilities of the Association in respect of that school;

(iv) section 39;

(v) section 44(1)(a) and (2);

(vi) in section 45(1) the words "(except an order under section 38)";

(vii) in section 45(2) the words "(except an order under section 39)"; and

(viii) Schedule 5;



(c) the North East London Education Association Order 1995 (S.I. 1995/2037) shall continue to have effect;

(d) any order previously made in relation to the Association and Hackney Downs School under section 38(3) of the Inspections Act shall continue to have effect;

(e) section 45 of the Inspections Act shall continue to apply in relation to any order made in respect of the Association or Hackney Downs School under section 38 or 39 of that Act.".
