The Traffic Director for London, in accordance with a direction given to him by the Secretary of State under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:- Commencement and Citation 1. This Order may be cited as the A23 Trunk Road (Croydon) Red Route (Prohibited Turns) (No. 3) Experimental Traffic Order 1998, and shall come into force on 27th September 1998. Interpretation 2. In this Order:-
(b) Causing includes permitting; (c) "Purley Way" means that length of the A23 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Croydon known as Purley Way; (d) "B271 Stafford Road" means that length of the B271 in the London Borough of Croydon known as Stafford Road; (e) "Denning Avenue" means the road of that name in the London Borough of Croydon.
Prohibition
(b) to turn right so as to proceed eastwards in Denning Avenue.
Exemptions
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.
