TRANSPORT

The Railways (Amendment) Regulations 1998

  Laid before Parliament 23rd June 1998 
  Coming into force 27th June 1998 

The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated[1] for the purpose of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[2] in relation to measures relating to railways and railway transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section hereby makes the following Regulations: - 

     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Railways (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 27th June 1998.

    
2.  - (1) Regulation 21 of the Railways Regulations 1998[3] shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.

    (2) In paragraph (2) after "After subsection (1)" insert "of section 6".

    (3) In paragraph (4) for "of section 6 there shall be inserted" substitute "of that section insert".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


This instrument remedies a defect in the Railways Regulations 1998 by inserting a reference to section 6 of the Railways Act 1993 in regulation 21(2).
