The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: - 1. This Order may be cited as the A1089 and the A126 Trunk Roads (Tilbury) (Detrunking) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 5th June 1998. 2. In this Order -
(ii) "the trunk roads" mean the A1089 and the A126 Trunk Roads respectively

The lengths of the trunk roads described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as classified roads from the date when this Order comes into force. The lengths of trunk roads are situated (a) on the A1089 between a point 30 metres south east of the centre line of Access Road Tilbury Dock Gates and its junction with the A126 Ferry Road, Tilbury and (b) on the A126 trunk road between its junction with the A1089 St Andrews Road, Tilbury and its junction with Fort Road, Tilbury and are shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/PS/193(D) marked "The A1089 and the A126 Trunk Roads (Tilbury) (Detrunking) Order 1998", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, and deposited at the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Great Minster House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.
