The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 92(1) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having regard to the change in the arrangements for the administration of hospitals and other establishments and facilities previously managed by the former City and Hackney Health Authority and now managed by the Royal Hospital of St. Bartholomew, the Royal London Hospital and London Chest Hospital National Health Service Trust[2], having consulted the East London and The City Health Authority and the Special Trustees for the Royal Hospital of St. Bartholomew in accordance with section 92(3) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Special Trustees for the Royal Hospital of St. Bartholomew (Transfer of Trust Property) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st June 1998.
(2) In this Order -

"the Authority" means the East London and The City Health Authority;

"the Special Trustees" means the Special Trustees for the Royal Hospital of St. Bartholomew;

"the trust property" means the items specified in a schedule of trust property prepared by, agreed upon by and signed on behalf of the Authority and the Special Trustees on 15th December 1997.
Transfer of trust property
2.
On 1st June 1998 the trust property shall be transferred from the Authority to the Special Trustees.

This Order transfers to the Special Trustees for the Royal Hospital of St. Bartholomew on 1st June 1998 trust property held by the East London and The City Health Authority. A copy of the schedule of trust property to which the Order refers can be obtained from the Department of Health, Accounts and Trust Allocations Branch, Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UE.
