APPENDIX

EXERCISE OF POWERS

1.   The Regulations in Part I of this Instrument are made by the Secretary of State for Transport, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales—

    (a)   acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 64(1), (2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[8]; and

    (b)   acting severally, in relation to England, to Scotland and to Wales respectively, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 25 of that Act


and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf.

2.   The Directions in Part II of this Instrument are given by the said Secretaries of State acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 65(1) and (1A)[9] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
