LAND REGISTRATION

The Land Registration Act 1997 (Commencement) Order 1997

  Made 9th December 1997 
  Coming into force 1st April 1998 

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5(2) of the Land Registration Act 1997[1], hereby makes the following Order - 

     1. This Order may be cited as the Land Registration Act 1997 (Commencement) Order 1997.

    
2. The following provisions of the Land Registration Act 1997 - 

    (a) section 1,

    (b) Part I of Schedule 1 and section 4(1) so far as relating thereto, and

    (c) Part I of Schedule 2 and section 4(2) so far as relating thereto,

shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

    
3. Part I of Schedule 1 to, and section 4(1) (so far as relating thereto) of, the Land Registration Act 1997 shall apply only in relation to dispositions made on or after 1st April 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


The Land Registration Act 1997 came into force on 27th April 1997, apart from the provisions affected by this Order. This Order brings into force the remaining provisions of the Act on 1st April 1998.
