ROAD TRAFFIC

The A30 Trunk Road (Great South West Road, Hounslow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 1997

  Made 3rd October 1997 
  Coming into force 3rd October 1997 

The Traffic Director for London, following a direction given to him by the Secretary of State under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order: - 

     1. This Order may be cited as The A30 Trunk Road (Great South West Road, Hounslow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 1997 and shall come into force on the 3rd October 1997.

    
2. In this Order "Fagg's Road", "Hatton Road" and "Dick Turpin Way" means these roads so named in the London Borough of Hounslow.

    
3. This Order is made because the Traffic Director for London is satisfied that traffic on the roads, or lengths of road, mentioned in the schedule to this Order should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near these roads or lengths of roads.

    
4. During the period starting at 21.30 hours on 3rd October 1997 and ending at 06.00 on 26th December 1997 or when those works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, subject to the provisions of article 5 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to - 

    (a) turn right on entering the A30 Great South West Road from Hatton Road;

    (b) proceed south bound into Fagg's Road on entering the A30 Great South West Road from Hatton Road;

    (c) proceed north bound into Hatton Road on entering the A30 Great South West Road from Fagg's Road;

    (d) remain at rest within the gap in the median strip of the A30 Great South West Road at its junction with Fagg's Road and Hatton Road;

    (e) turn right on entering the A30 Great South West Road from Dick Turpin Way;

    (f) turn right into Dick Turpin Way from the A30 Great South West Road eastbound;

    (g) remain at rest within the gap in the median strip of the A30 Great South West Road at its junction with Dick Turpin Way.

     5.  - (1) The provisions of article 4 above shall apply only during such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

    (2) The provisions specified in article 4 above shall not apply in respect of -
