TRANSPORT AND WORKS

The Transport and Works (Guided Transport Modes) (Amendment) Order 1997

  Made 4th August 1997 
  Coming into force 11th August 1997 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(1) and (2) of the Transport and Works Act 1992[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Transport and Works (Guided Transport Modes) (Amendment) Order 1997, and shall come into force on the seventh day after the day on which it is made.

    
2. Article 3(2) of the Transport and Works (Guided Transport Modes) Order 1992[2] shall be amended:

    (a) by substituting the words "for the carriage of passengers or goods" for the words "wholly or mainly for the carriage of passengers"; and

    (b) by inserting before the word "and" the words ", "goods" has the same meaning as in Part I of the Railways Act 1993[3]".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the meaning of a mode of transport in the Transport and Works (Guided Transport Modes) Order 1992 to include in the modes prescribed by that Order those whose purpose is the carriage of goods.
