COAL INDUSTRY

The British Coal Corporation (Change of Quorum) Regulations 1997

  Made 25th June 1997 
  Laid before Parliament 26th June 1997 
  Coming into force 1st July 1997 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(7) of the Coal Industry Nationalisation Act 1946[1] and now vested in him[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: - 

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as The British Coal Corporation (Change of Quorum) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 1st July 1997.

Amendment to the Coal Industry Nationalisation (National Coal Board) Regulations 1946
    
2. In regulation 4 (Quorum) of the Coal Industry Nationalisation (National Coal Board)[3] Regulations 1946[4]: - 

    for the word "three" there shall be substituted "two".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend regulation 4 (Quorum) of the Coal Industry Nationalisation (National Coal Board) Regulations 1946 (as amended by The British Coal Corporation (Change of Quorum) Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/1506)) by substituting a quorum of two for the quorum of three required at a meeting of the British Coal Corporation.
