The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1 . The instrument may be cited as "The County Council of The Royal Country of Berkshire A329(M) Special Road Variation Scheme 1996 Confirmation Instrument 1997" and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980. 2 . The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329(M) Special Road Variation Scheme 1996 is hereby confirmed with modifications. 3 . The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme") is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan as modified are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR, and at the offices of the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire, Shire Hall, Shinfield Park, Reading, Berkshire RG2 9DU. (ii) The Royal County of Berkshire A329(M) Special Road (Reading South-East and Wokingham North-West Link) Scheme 1978; and (iii) The Royal County of Berkshire A329(M) Special Road (Loddon Bridge Interchange) Scheme 1979
by the deletion therefrom of -
2. The centre line of the main special road and the connecting roads mentioned in article of this Scheme are indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
4. This Scheme may be cited as the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329(M) Special Road Variation Scheme 1996. 1. The route of the main special road from its north-western extremity (marked A on the deposited plan) in the Town of Earley in the District of Wokingham in the Royal County of Berkshire south-eastwards then eastwards for a distance of 4.1 kilometres to a point at the junction between the main special road and the northbound egress connecting road (marked B on the deposited plan) in the Town of Woodley in the aforesaid District and County; and for a further distance of 0.2 kilometres eastwards along the westbound carriageway only from the aforementioned point (marked B as aforesaid) to a point at the junction between the main special road and the southbound egress connecting road (marked C on the deposited plan) in the Parish of Winnersh in the aforesaid District and County. 1. The route of the north-westbound egress connecting road in the Town of Earley in the aforesaid District and County starting at the north-westbound carriageway of the main special road (marked D on the deposited plan) and ending at the south-western boundary of Sutton Seeds Roundabout (A4 Trunk Road) (marked E on the deposited plan). 2. The route of the south-eastbound access connecting road in the Town of Earley in the aforesaid District and County starting at the south-eastern boundary of the Sutton Seeds Roundabout (A4 Trunk Road) (marked F on the deposited plan) and ending at the south-eastbound carriageway of the main special road (marked G on the deposited plan). 3. The route of the northbound egress connecting road in the Town of Woodley in the aforesaid District and County starting at the eastbound carriageway of the main special road (marked B on the deposited plan) and ending at the southeastern boundary of the Bader Way Roundabout (marked H on the deposited plan). 4. The route of the northbound access connecting road in the Town of Woodley in the aforesaid District and County starting at the northwestern boundary of the Winnersh Triangle Roundabout (marked I on the deposited plan) and ending at the westbound carriageway of the main special road (marked J on the deposited plan). 5. The route of the westbound access connecting road in the Parish of Winnersh and in the Towns of Earley and Woodley in the aforesaid District and County starting at the car park to the multi-screen cinema at Loddon Bridge (marked K on the deposited plan) and ending at the westbound carriageway of the main special road (marked L on the deposited plan).
