CROWN AGENTS FOR OVERSEA GOVERNMENTS AND ADMINISTRATIONS

The Crown Agents Act 1995 (Appointed Day) Order 1997

  Made 20th March 1997 

The Secretary of State in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 1(1) of the Crown Agents Act 1995[1] hereby makes the following Order:

     1 . This Order may be cited as the Crown Agents Act 1995 (Appointed Day) Order 1997.

    
2 . The day appointed under section 1(1) of the Crown Agents Act 1995 shall be 21st March 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


Section 1(1) of the Crown Agents Act 1995 provides that on such day as the Secretary of State may appoint ("the appointed day"), all property, rights and liabilities to which the Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations were entitled or subject immediately before that day shall become property, rights and liabilities of a company ("the successor company") nominated for the purposes of section 1 of that Act by the Secretary of State.

This Order appoints 21st March 1997 as the appointed day for the purposes of that Act. A separate order has been made nominating the successor company.
