The Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation Order 1997

  Laid before Parliament 5th March 1997 
  Coming into force 28th March 1997 

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994[1], the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

     1 . This Order may be cited as the Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation Order 1997 and shall come into force on 28th March 1997 

    
2 . The following are hereby designated as institutions eligible for funding under Part 1 of the Education Act 1994: - 

    (a) Titan Partnership, a charitable unincorporated association having the registered charity number 1058051.

    (b) Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

    (c) Essex County Council.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order designates Titan Partnership, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Essex County Council ("the Institutions") as institutions eligible for funding under Part 1 of the Education Act 1994.

Titan Partnership is a charitable unincorporated association, established on 2nd July 1996, having the registered charity number 1058051.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Essex County Council are a Metropolitan District Council and a County Council respectively.

As a result of this Order, the Teacher Training Agency may make grants, loans or other payments in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the Institutions for the purposes of the provision of teacher training and the provision of facilities, and the carrying on of other activities which the Institutions consider it necessary or desirable to provide or carry on for the purpose of or in connection with the provision of teacher training.
