CRIMINAL LAW, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No. 10) Order 1996

Made 20th June 1996

    In exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 172(2) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994[1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No. 10) Order 1966.
        2.    Section 149 of, and paragraph 70 of Schedule 10 to, the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (incorporation of the Parole Board) shall come into force on 1st July 1996.
        3.    The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No. 9) Order 1996[2], made on 9th June 1996, is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings into force on 1st July 1996 section 149 of, and paragraph 70 of Schedule 10 to, the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. These provide for the incorporation of the Parole Board and make various supplementary provisions.
    This Order revokes, and otherwise re-enacts the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No. 9) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/1530 (C.30)) to remove any confusion with another Order of the same title (S.I. 1996/625 (C.12)).
