ELECTRICITY

The Electricity Act 1989 (Disclosure of Information) (Licence Holders) Order 1996

Made 24th October 1996
Laid before Parliament 25th October 1996
Coming into force 1st December 1996

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 57(4) of the Electricity Act 1989[1], hereby makes the following Order:-
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Electricity Act 1989 (Disclosure of Information) (Licence Holders) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st December 1996.
        2.    Subsection (2) of section 57 of the Electricity Act 1989[2] shall have effect subject to the following modification, that is to say, after paragraph (a) there shall be inserted the following paragraph-
        "(aa) for the purpose of enabling a licence holder to comply with a condition of his licence under or by virtue of which he is required to disclose the information to another licence holder;."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order relates to disclosure of information made between the holders of licences granted under section 6 of the Electricity Act 1989. It adds disclosure made between such licence holders under a licence obligation to the list of exceptions from the restrictions on disclosure of information in section 57(1) of the Electricity Act 1989.
