The Housing Act 1996 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1996

Made 15th October 1996

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 232(3) of the Housing Act 1996[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Housing Act 1996 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1996.
    Commencement
        2.    Section 167 of the Housing Act 1996 shall come into force on 23rd October 1996 for the purposes of requiring a local housing authority to consult on an allocation scheme prior to its adoption and enabling them to adopt the scheme.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings into force on 23rd October 1996 section 167 of the Housing Act 1996 for the purposes of requiring a local housing authority to consult on an allocation scheme prior to its adoption and enabling them to adopt the scheme.
