SOCIAL SECURITY

The Jobseekers Act 1995 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1996

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 41(2) and (3) of the Jobseekers Act 1995^[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Jobseekers Act 1995 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1996.

Appointed Day
    2.    The day appointed for the coming into force —
 (a) of paragraphs 2, 12 and 14 of Schedule 2 to the Jobseekers Act 1995, and section 41(4) of that Act in so far as it relates to those paragraphs, is 2nd September 1996;
 (b) of all other provisions of the Jobseekers Act 1995 in so far as not already in force, is 7th October 1996.

This, the fourth Order commencing provisions of the Jobseekers Act 1995 (c. 18), provides for the coming into force of paragraphs 2, 12 and 14 of Schedule 2 to the Act on 2nd September 1996 and for the whole of the remainder of the Act, in so far as not already in force, to come into force on 7th October 1996.
