HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES

The M66 Motorway (Bury Easterly Bypass Northern Section) And Connecting Roads Scheme 1973 (Variation) Scheme 1996

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980^[1], and now vested in him^[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: —

    1.    The M66 Motorway (Bury Easterly Bypass Northern Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1973^[3] (hereinafter referred to as "the Principal Scheme") is varied as follows:

    (1)  
 (a) in article 2 of the Principal Scheme for the words "the deposited plan"substitute the words "the deposited plan and the further plan";
 (b) after the first sub-paragraph of article 4 of the Principal Scheme insert the following sub paragraph —

"the further plan"

means the plan numbered HA16/NNMD1 and marked "The M66 Motorway (Bury Easterly Bypass Northern Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1973 (Variation) Scheme 1996"signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR;

 (c) for paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Scheme substitute —
    "1.    Junction with Rochdale Road (A58) at Heap Bridge
Two routes to connect the northbound and southbound carriageways of the Motorway with a roundabout to be constructed as part of Rochdale Road (A58) at Heap Bridge (the special roads along these routes being respectively given the reference letter A on the deposited plan and the reference letter B on the further plan).
    (2)  The heavy black line given the reference letter B on the deposited plan referred to in the Principal Scheme shall be disregarded."

    2.    This Order may be cited as The M66 Motorway (Bury Easterly Bypass Northern Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1973 (Variation) Scheme 1996 and shall come into force on 13th September 1996.
