HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES

The A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout to North Runcton) (Detrunking) Order 1996

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980^[1], and now vested in him^[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf.

    1.    This Order may be cited as the A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout to North Runcton) (Detrunking) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 8th August 1996.

    2.    In this Order:
 (a) "the new trunk roads" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(2)(b) of the A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout Flyover and Slip Roads) Order 1996^[3];
 (b) "the trunk road" means the A47 Trunk Road.

    3.    The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Norfolk County Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.
