SPORTS GROUNDS AND SPORTING EVENTS

The Football Spectators (Seating) Order 1996

Made 27th June 1996
Laid before Parliament 9th July 1996
Coming into force 31st July 1996

    The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 11(1) to (3) of the Football Spectators Act 1989[1] and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, after consulting the Football Licensing Authority, hereby makes the following Order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Football Spectators (Seating) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 31st July 1996.
        2.—(1)  The Secretary of State hereby directs the Football Licensing Authority as set out in paragraph (2) below.

        (2)  When granting any licence to admit spectators[2] to any of the premises specified in column (1) of Schedule 1 hereto and further identified in column (2) of that Schedule by the name of the football club of which they are the home ground, it shall include a condition imposing the requirements, as respects the seating of spectators at designated football matches[3] at the said premises, specified in Schedule 2 hereto.
