GAS

The Gas Act 1995 (Appointed Day and Commencement) Order 1996

Made 5th February 1996

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 18(2) and (4) of the Gas Act 1995[1], hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Gas Act 1995 (Appointed Day and Commencement) Order 1996.
    Appointment of appointed day
        2.    The day appointed for the purpose of section 18(2) of the Gas Act 1995 shall be 1st March 1996.
    Commencement of section 12
        3.    Section 12 of the Gas Act 1995 shall come into force on 1st March 1996.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)
    This Order appoints 1st March 1996 as the appointed day for the purpose of section 18(2) of the Gas Act 1995, and brings section 12 of the Act into force on the same day.
    The Order brings into force on 1st March 1996 all the provisions of the Act that were not brought into force on its passing.
