SALMON AND FRESHWATER FISHERIES

The Annual Close Time (River Eachaig Salmon Fishery District) Order 1995

Made 23rd November 1995
Coming into force 1st January 1996

    The Secretary of State, on application to him by the River Eachaig District Salmon Fishery Board, having carried out all necessary consultations, having directed publication of the general effect of the proposals contained in the application and no representations or objections having been received, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6(3) of, as read with Schedule 1 to, the Salmon Act 1986[1] and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Annual Close Time (River Eachaig Salmon Fishery District) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st January 1996.
    Annual close time and period permitted for salmon fishing by rod and line
        2.    For the River Eachaig Salmon Fishery District[2]
       (a) the dates of the annual close time shall be 1st September to 30th April, both dates inclusive; and
       (b) the period within that time when it is permitted to fish for and take salmon by rod and line shall be 1st September to 31st October, both dates inclusive.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order prescribes the dates of the annual close time for the River Eachaig Salmon Fishery District as 1st September to 30th April, both dates inclusive and thereby replaces the previous dates which were 1st September to 15th February. This Order also prescribes 1st September to 31st October both dates inclusive as the period within that annual close time during which fishing for salmon by rod and line is permitted.
