ROAD TRAFFIC

The International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulations 1995

Laid before Parliament 13th July 1995
Coming into force 3rd August 1995

    The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 3(1), 4(1) and 19(1)[1] of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1976[2] hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 3rd August 1995.
        2.    In Part III of the Schedule to the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 1985[3]
       (a) for the amounts "£55", "£160" and "£40" there shall be substituted the amounts "£80", "£240" and "£80" respectively; and
       (b) in paragraph 2(a) for the word "four" there shall be substituted the word "three" and the words ", for each unit" shall be deleted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations change the fees charged under the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 1985, as amended by the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and 1992, for examination of goods vehicles, railway wagons and containers carrying perishable foodstuffs on international journeys. The fees for testing and type approval remain the same.
    The Regulations also change the basis for charging the fee for examination at a place other than the Refrigerated Vehicle Test Centre. The same new fee of £240 will apply where one, two or three units of equipment are presented at the same time for examination. The old fee of £160 applied where up to four units of equipment were presented at the same time for examination, for each unit of equipment.
    The fees for examination are as follows;
    EXAMINATION OLD FEE NEW FEE
          1.    Fee for examination of unit of equipment at the Refrigerated Vehicle Test Cen tre
    £55 £80
          2.    Fee for examination of unit of equipment at place other than the Refrigerated Vehicle Test Centre—
        (a) for up to three units presented at the same time for examination (previously for up to four units, for each unit)

    £160 £240
      (b) for each additional unit
    £40 £80
          3.    Fee for certification of vehicle which has been examined
    £50 £50
