COAL INDUSTRY

The Coal Industry Act 1994 (Commencement No. 6) and Membership of the British Coal Corporation(Appointed Day) Order 1995

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 23(1), 68(4) and (5)(a) of the Coal Industry Act 1994^[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and interpretation
    1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Coal Industry Act 1994 (Commencement No. 6) and Membership of the British Coal Corporation (Appointed Day) Order 1995.

    (2)  In this Order "the Act" means the Coal Industry Act 1994.

Provisions coming into force on 30th June 1995
    2.    The following provisions shall come into force on 30th June 1995:
 (a) section 67(8) of the Act, so far as it relates to provisions coming into force by virtue of this Order; and
 (b) Part III of Schedule 11 to the Act so far as it relates to the repeals set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Appointed day for the purposes of section 23(1) of the Act
    3.    The day appointed for the purposes of section 23(1)(a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act is 30th June 1995.
