Regulations made by the Secretary of State, laid before Parliament under section 708(2) of the Companies Act 1985, for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament within 28 days beginning with the day on which the regulations were made, subject to extension for periods of dissolution, prorogation or adjournment for more than four days.

The Companies (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1995

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 708(1) and (2) of the Companies Act 1985[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Companies (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st July 1995.
        2.    The Schedule to the Companies (Fees) Regulations 1991[2] is amended by inserting the following entry after entry 20—
      20A. For the performance by the registrar of his functions in relation to an application by a private company under section 652A for the company's name to be struck off the register £10.00.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Companies (Fees) Regulations 1991, following amendments to the Companies Act 1985 to be made by section 13(1) of, and Schedule 5 to, the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (c. 40) which provide a new procedure for the directors of a non-trading private company to apply to the registrar of companies for the company's name to be struck off the register. A new fee of £10.00 is prescribed in respect of the making of such an application. These Regulations will come into force on 1st July 1995, the same date on which the relevant provisions of the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 will be brought into force.
