The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1995

Coming into force 1st May 1995

At the Court at Windsor Castle, the 11th day of April 1995

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 2 of the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties in Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1995, and shall come into force on 1st May 1995.
        2.    The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 6) Order 1994[2] is revoked.
        3.    The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1993[3] is amended by deleting the Schedule and substituting therefor the following—

      CONVENTION ON THE CIVIL ASPECTS OF INTERNATIONAL CHILD ABDUCTION, THE HAGUE, 25TH OCTOBER 1980

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order, which is made under the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985, amends the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1993[4] in order to specify that, for the purposes of that Act, Italy is a Contracting State to the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, The Hague, 25th October 1980, with effect from 1st May 1995.
