LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND AND WALES The Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Sports and Leisure Management, Catering and Maintenance of Ground) Order 1995
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Sports and Leisure Management, Catering and Maintenance of Ground) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 17th April 1995.
2.(1) The management of sports and leisure facilities by the Bath City Council, the Bournemouth Borough Council, the Three Rivers District Council, the Croydon London Borough Council, the Hillingdon London Borough Council, the Redbridge London Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames shall not be treated as a defined authority so long as it is undertaken
(2) The management of sports and leisure facilities by the Kettering Borough Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken at Kettering Leisure Village, Thurston Drive, Kettering before 1st August 1996.
3. Catering by the Bournemouth Borough Council and the Mid-Sussex District Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken
4. The maintenance of ground by the Maidstone Borough Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out within any of the areas listed in Schedule 3 before 1st April 1996.
