EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) Order 1992 by modifying the condition which was attached to certain property transferred to the London Borough of Hackney by that Order.
The property, now held by Hackney Community College pursuant to section 23 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992, was required to be brought into use for the full- time education of 16 to 18 year olds by 1st April 1995. The amendment provides that it must be brought into use for the education of those over the age of 16 by 1st September 1998.
A small part of the property will be released from the condition altogether if it is exchanged for land of similar size and value which adjoins the property.
