POLICE

The Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1994

Made 28th November 1994
Laid before Parliament 9th November 1994
Coming into force 1st January 1995

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 26 of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and after taking into consideration any representations made by the Police Advisory Board for Scotland following the submission of a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 26(9) of the said Act of 1967, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st January 1995.

        (2)  In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Regulations 1966[2].
    Amendment of the principal Regulations
        2.    The principal Regulations are amended as follows:—
       (a) in regulation 4, paragraph (c) is omitted; and
       (b) in regulation 13, paragraph (1) is omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Regulations 1966 so as to remove the minimum height requirement in relation to appointment to the office of special constable.
