ROAD TRAFFIC

The A20 Trunk Road (Sidcup Road, Greenwich) (Prohibition of Use of Gaps in Central Reservation) Order 1994

Made 4th July 1994
Coming into force 11th July 1994

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis pursuant to section 7(6) of that Act[2], hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the A20 Trunk Road (Sidcup Road, Greenwich) (Prohibition of Use of Gaps in Central Reservation) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 11th July 1994.
        2.    In this Order-
      "central reservation" means that part of Sidcup Road which separates its two carriageways for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road; and

      "Sidcup Road" means that length of the A20 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Greenwich known as Sidcup Road.

        3.    No person shall cause or permit any vehicle having entered Sidcup Road from Mottingham Lane to enter or proceed through the gap in the central reservation which lies opposite that junction.
        4.    No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in Sidcup Road to enter or proceed through the gaps in the central reservation which lie opposite the junctions of Sidcup Road with-
       (a) the western and eastern accesses to the service road fronting numbers 375 to 485 Sidcup Road;
       (b) Luxfield Road;
       (c) West Park; and
       (d) the eastern access to the forecourt fronting numbers 701 to 727 Sidcup Road.
