CIVIL AVIATION

The Civil Aviation (Personnel Licences) Order 1992 (Amendment) Regulations 1994

The Secretary of State for Transport, being a Minister designated^[1]for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972^[2]in relation to matters relating to air transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section hereby makes the following Regulations:

    1.    This Order may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Personnel Licences) Order 1992 (Amendment) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st July 1994.

    2.—(1)  The Civil Aviation (Personnel Licences) Order 1992^[3]shall be amended as follows.

    (2)  After article 1 there shall be inserted the following article
"  (1A)  In this Order "an EEA State" means a State which is a Contracting Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area signed at Oporto on 2nd May 1992^[4]as adjusted by the Protocol signed at Brussels on 17th March 1993^[5]but until that Agreement comes into force in relation to Liechtenstein does not include the State of Liechtenstein." .



    (3)  In article 2 for the words "a member State" there shall be substituted the words "an EEA State".

    3.    This Order extends to Northern Ireland only.

These Regulations amend the Civil Aviation (Personnel Licences) Order 1992 by amending the reference, in article 2, o a national of a member State so that it refersto a national of an EEA State so as to take account of the amendment of the Annexes to the EEA Agreement done by the Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No. 7/94(a).

This Order extends to Northern Ireland only.
