ROAD TRAFFIC

The Removal and Disposal of Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations 1994

Made 4th June 1994
Laid before Parliament 13th June 1994
Coming into force 4th July 1994

    The Secretary of State for Transport as respects England, the Secretary of State for Scotland as respects Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of powers conferred by section 99(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby make the following Regulations:—
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 4th July 1994.
        2.—(1)  The Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986[2] shall be amended as follows.

        (2)  In Schedule 1 (enactments imposing restrictions and prohibitions on the waiting of vehicles), after the paragraph referring to section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, there shall be inserted the following paragraph:—
      "Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (which provides for the restriction or prohibition of the use of roads in connection with the holding of certain special events)."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    A contravention of a prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles on roads by or under a provision listed in Schedule 1 to the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986 renders a vehicle liable to removal. These Regulations amend the 1986 Regulations by adding section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to the list in Schedule 1.
