The District Probate Registries (Amendment) Order 1994

Made 18th April 1994
Laid before Parliament 25th April 1994
Coming into force 23rd May 1994

    The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 104 of the Supreme Court Act 1981[1], hereby makes the following Order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the District Probate Registries (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 23rd May 1994.
        2.    The Gloucester Probate Sub—Registry shall be attached to and under the control of the registrar of the Oxford District Probate Registry, instead of the Llandaff District Probate Registry.
        3.    Column 2 of the Schedule to the District Probate Registries Order 1982[2] shall accordingly be amended as follows—

        (1)  in the entry appearing opposite to the entry in column 1 relating to the Llandaff District Probate Registry (Probate Registry of Wales), the word "Gloucester" and the comma which precedes it shall be omitted; and

        (2)  in the entry appearing opposite to the entry in column 1 relating to the Oxford District Probate Registry, before the word "Leicester" there shall be inserted the word "Gloucester" followed by a comma.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order amends the District Probate Registries Order 1982 so as to transfer the Gloucester Probate Sub-Registry from the Llandaff District Probate Registry (Probate Registry of Wales) to the Oxford District Probate Registry.
