The Exempt Charities Order 1993

Made 29th September 1993
Coming into force 30th September 1993

At the Court at Balmoral, the 29th day of September 1993

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1993[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 1993 and shall come into force on 30th September 1993.
        2.    Cranfield University is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1993.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order declares Cranfield University to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993.An exempt charity is not required to be registered with the Charity Commissioners and the Commissioners cannot exercise any powers under the Act in relation to an exempt charity except at the charity's request.
