The House of Commons Disqualification Order 1993

Coming into force 14th July 1993

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 23rd day of June 1993

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Whereas section 5 of the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975[1] enables Her Majesty by Order in Council to amend Schedule 1 to that Act in accordance with a resolution of the House of Commons:
    And whereas on 16th June 1993 it was resolved by the House of Commons that Schedule 1to the Act of 1975 be amended:
    Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of the said section 5 and in accordance with the said resolution, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the House of Commons Disqualification Order 1993.
        2.    Schedule 1 to the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975 (which specifies offices the holders of which are disqualified for membership of the House of Commons) shall have effect subject to the amendments specified in the Schedule to this Order.
