HEALTH AND SAFETY

The Health and Safety (Fees) Regulations 1993

Coming into force 21st June 1993

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 43(2), (4) and (5) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974[1] ("the 1974 Act") and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf and for the purpose of giving effect without modifications to proposals submitted to her by the Health and Safety Commission under section 11(2)(d) of the 1974 Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:-
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Safety (Fees) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 21st June 1993.
        2.    The following table shall be substituted for the table set out in sub-paragraph (a) of the Schedule to the Offshore Installations (Life-saving Appliances) Regulations 1977[2] and for the table set out in sub-paragraph (a) of the Schedule to the Offshore Installations (Fire-fighting Equipment) Regulations 1978[3]:-
    TABLE
    Time spent Rate per hour or part thereof
    On any day except a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday -
    between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. £42.00
    before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m. £63.00
    On a Saturday £63.00
    On a Sunday or public holiday £84.00
        3.    In each of regulations 5(2)(c) and 5(5)(b) of the Road Traffic (Training of Drivers of Vehicles Carrying Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1992[4], there shall be substituted for the figure "2.50", the figure "2.70".
        4.    The Offshore Installations (Life-saving Appliances and Fire-fighting Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 1990[5] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations update fees payable under the Offshore Installations (Life-saving Appliances) Regulations 1977 (S.I. 1977/486, amended by S.I. 1984/419 and S.I. 1990/707), the Offshore Installations (Fire-fighting Equipment) Regulations 1978 (S.I. 1978/611, amended by S.I. 1984/419 and S.I. 1990/707) and the Road Traffic (Training of Drivers of Vehicles Carrying Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/744).
    The new fees, compared to those fixed by or determined under the previous Regulations, are as follows:
