BANKS AND BANKING

The Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1993

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 4(3) of the Banking Act 1987^[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and after consultation with the Bank of England, hereby order as follows:

Citation and commencement
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 23rd April 1993.

Exemption
    2.    Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 shall be amended by the addition of the following new entry after the entry numbered 26—
    "27.    The Council of Europe Resettlement Fund." .

This Order adds The Council of Europe Resettlement Fund to the list in Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 of persons exempted from section 3 of that Act (restriction on acceptance of deposits.
