EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Finance) (Amendment) Regulations 1993

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 79 and 232(5) of the Education Reform Act 1988^[1] the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Regulations:

    1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Finance) (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.

    2.    The Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Finance) Regulations 1993^[2] shall be amended as follows:—
 (a) In regulation 5(3)(b) for the words "regulation 17(1)"and "regulation 17(2)"in each case there shall be substituted the words "regulation 15(2)"; and
 (b) in paragraph 5(2)(b) of Schedule 1, for the words "paragraph (3)"there shall be substituted the words "sub-paragraph (3)".

These amending Regulations make drafting corrections to the Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Finance) Regulations 1993. Regulation 5(3)(b) of the 1993 Regulations, in referring to the provisions of those Regulations in accordance with which the relevant date (for the purposes of determining annual maintenance grant) is determined, incorrectly refers to regulation 17(1) and (2) and not, as should be the case, to regulation 15(2). In paragraph 5(2)(b) of Schedule 2 to the 1993 Regulations the reference to paragraph (3) should be to sub-paragraph (3).
