EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
Section 30 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 provides that a licence issued by the Secretary of State for the purposes of that Act or of Regulations made under it may be issued subject to the condition of the payment of a fee. The Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) Regulations 1986, as amended, prescribe the fee payable in relation to a licence to produce, supply or offer to supply or possess controlled drugs; the present Regulations further amend those Regulations so as to increase the fees there prescribed by approximately 4 per cent.
