CIVIL AVIATION

The Rules of the Air (Amendment) Regulations 1993

Made 11th February 1993
Coming into force 12th March 1993

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of his powers under article 69(1) of the Air Navigation Order 1989([1]) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Rules of the Air (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 12th March 1993.
        2.    The Schedule to the Rules of the Air Regulations 1991([2]) shall be amended as follows:

        (1)  In Rule 1(1) the definitions of "apron" and "manoeuvring area" shall be deleted.

        (2)  At the end of Rule 7 there shall be added:

        "For the purposes of this rule the expression "simulated instrument flight" shall have the same meaning as in rule 6." .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Rules of the Air Regulations 1991. The changes are:
        (1)  The definition of "apron" and "manoeuvring areas" are deleted (Regulation 2(1)). These definitions now appear in an unchanged form in the Air Navigation Order 1989 as amended.

        (2)  For the avoidance of doubt it is provided that the meaning of "simulated instrument flight" in Rule 7 is the same as that in Rule 6 (Regulation 2(2)).
