EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Education (Further Education Corporations) (No. 3) Order 1992

Laid before Parliament 2nd December 1992
Coming into force 29th December 1992

    Whereas the Secretary of State for Education, in accordance with section 51(3) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992[1] and regulation 7 of the Education (Publication of Draft Proposals and Orders) (Further Education Corporations) Regulations 1992[2], published a draft of this Order by the time and in the manner prescribed by that regulation;
    And whereas it appears to the Secretary of State that the educational institutions specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order fall within section 16(2)(a) of that Act and those specified in Parts II and III of that Schedule fall within section 16(2)(b) of that Act;
    Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 16(2), 17 and 89(4) of that Act, the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Education (Further Education Corporations) (No. 3) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 29th December 1992 ("the Commencement Date").
        2.    On the Commencement Date there shall be established for the purpose of conducting from the operative date each of the educational institutions specified in Parts I and II of the Schedule to this Order a body corporate called by the same name as the institution it is to conduct.
        3.    On 1st March 1993 there shall be established a body corporate called "The Ridge College, Stockport" for the purpose of conducting from the operative date the existing educational institution of that name.
        4.    The "operative date", in relation to the further education corporations established by this Order and the institutions which they are to conduct, shall be—
       (a) in the case of the educational institutions specified in Parts I and II of the Schedule to this Order, 1st April 1993; or
       (b) in the case of The Ridge College, Stockport, 1st September 1993.
