EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1992

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(4) and 94(3) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992^[1], the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Order:

    1.    This Order may be cited as the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1992.

    2.    Section 93(1) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992, so far as it relates to paragraph 10 of Schedule 8 to that Act, shall come into force forthwith, but this article does not extend to Wales.

This Order remedies an omission from the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1992 (S.I. 1992/831 (C.31); amended by S.I. 1992/2041 (C.71). Article 3 of that Order purported to bring paragraph 10 of Schedule 8 to the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 into force on 1st September 1992 for certain purposes but did not bring into force section 93(1) of that Act, by virtue of which Schedule 8 has effect. Article 2 of this Order brings section 93(1) into force forthwith so far as it relates to paragraph 10.
