The Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1992

Made 9th September 1992

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 113(2) and 119(2) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992[1]) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and interpretation
        1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1992.

        (2)  In this Order, "the Act" means the Local Government Finance Act 1992.
    Commencement of provisions
        2.    The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 1st October 1992:—
       (a) in section 110, subsections (1) and (4);
       (b) in Schedule 11, paragraphs 31(b), 37 and 38 (a) and (c);
       (c) in Schedule 13, paragraphs 36, 38 (insofar as it concerns section 110A of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973[2]), 43, 49 and 75; and
       (d) in Schedule 14, the repeals listed in the Schedule to this Order.
    Transitional provisions
        3.    Nothing in this Order shall affect the operation of—
       (a) section 3A of the Abolition of Domestic Rates Etc. (Scotland) Act 1987[3];
       (b) any regulations made under that section; and
       (c) paragraph 19 of Schedule 5 to that Act;
    in relation to any financial year beginning before 1st April 1993.
